According to the bride, who detailed her dilemma on Reddit's "Wedding" forum, her fiancé's mom has a vendetta against her because of "something small" that happened months prior. "She called siblings, friends, her ex-husband and my own mother, to name a few, to try and convince everyone how terrible we are," the bride claimed. While she did not specify what the "something small" was that upset her future mother-in-law, she noted while replying to a reader in the comments section that it "was over Christmas for the most part and had nothing to do with the wedding." Silvia ND/Getty The bride said her future mother-in-law's behavior ultimately got her disinvited from the wedding by her son, and things only got worse from there. "After this, the smear campaign ramped up while simultaneously she did everything in her power to guilt her son into letting her come. She refused to apologize or reach out to me to make amends," the bride explained. When her campaign didn't work, the bride said, her future mother-in-law tried to convince her other kids to not attend the wedding and visit her instead. SimpleImages/Getty Stock Image While her other kids now refuse to visit her "because of her behavior," the future mother-in-law's husband has also allegedly tried to dig up "old dirt" on the bride through her fiancé's stepbrother, whom she has known for nearly 20 years. "What 60 something year old person does that?" the woman asked in her post. The bride shared while replying to people in the comments section that her wedding is only four weeks away. Her fiancé has been on the road working since mid-January, and she is concerned that the "huge drama" might "ramp up" once he is home again since they live very close to his mother. Although the experience has been a "rollercoaster" for the bride, she has found a silver lining. Pregnant Woman Refuses to Let Husband Attend His Sister's Wedding Couple holding hands (stock image). In the comments section, the bride noted in response to a reader that while "there were a few times" early in her relationship with her fiancé that he would try to defend his mom, it ultimately has not affected their romance. "Her son and I have had nearly no conflict in our relationship and are incredibly happy and planning on TTC [trying to conceive] immediately after the wedding," she wrote. Fellow Redditors sympathized with the bride's situation. One person wrote, "I'm really sorry you're going through this." Another commented: "She sounds crazy. At least your partner took your side."
