Kate Bosworth and Husband Justin Long Find 'Something Very Beautiful' About Aging Naturally Together (Exclusive)

Kate Bosworth and Justin Long are getting comfortable growing older together.

Bosworth and Long, who have been married since 2023, told PEOPLE at Clarin's Icons event at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles on Friday, March 21 that latter is supportive of their natural aging process as a couple.

"We laugh a lot and he's very, very encouraging of... He really loves natural aging," Bosworth, 42, says. "Right?"

"It's easy to love when somebody's aging so beautifully. It's true. It's very inspiring," Long, 46, adds.

Long and Bosworth began dating publicly in 2022, after first appearing to meet on the set of a movie in early 2021. The two then got married at the Rockaway Hotel in New York City’s Queens during a spur-of-the-moment ceremony in May 2023.

"So there's something very beautiful about, well, we're getting a little older," Bosworth tells PEOPLE of their relationship now. "And it's fun to get older together and to laugh and to think about the craziness of when you were younger and the peace that I think that we have now."

When asked what skincare tips they have shared with each other over the years, Long says, "She's the beauty, so I get all my tips from her."

"He gave me an LED light for Christmas that I love and he didn't understand why I was so excited about it. And then he started using it and the... you like the red light," Bosworth notes.

"I do. It's very relaxing," Long replies. "I think she helps me just calm down and take the stress away from life and laugh a lot. So I think that helps."

While speaking with PEOPLE, Long described his wife as "my best friend" and cited their love for laughter and solid communication as he and Bosworth spoke to their best relationship tips.

"I think we feel very safe together. He can tell me anything and I can tell you anything," Bosworth says. "I know that sounds kind of like, I don't know. It should be that way, but it hasn't always been that way for me in my life, so I appreciate that deeply. We have a lot of fun."

The couple will celebrate their second wedding anniversary together on May 4; Long tells PEOPLE that many people assume their anniversary is related to Star Wars Day, but "it just happened to be that day."

"But it's a very important day for us, for reasons that we won't forever keep private," he says, to which Bosworth adds, "It's our love day."
