Elizabeth Olsen Shares Her 'Favorite Thing to Talk About' with Husband Robbie Arnett, and It May Surprise You (Exclusive)

PLUS: The actress's 'Assessment' costar Alicia Vikander weighs in on the Olsen twins' popularity in Sweden

Elizabeth Olsen isn't afraid to talk shop with Robbie Arnett.

In a sit-down alongside her The Assessment costar Alicia Vikander for a PEOPLE in 10 segment, the actress revealed that while she knows "people talk about separating work and life and whatever," it's different with her and her musician husband.

"To us, the thing we love most is talking about stories," says Olsen, 36. "Talking about work is talking about why we do it, what's a good way to crack it."

"It's my favorite thing to talk about — I mean, one of my favorite things to talk about, with my husband. So I endlessly enjoy it," she adds.

And Vikander, who has been married to fellow actor Michael Fassbender since 2017 and shares two sons with him, agrees wholeheartedly.

"I think having somebody who understands and really gets the passion that you have, it's wonderful to have those talks," says the Academy Award winner, 36, "that are very sincere about things that you are trying to figure out."

"It's wonderful, the kind of conversations you can have when you show him something that you're really passionate about," Vikander adds.

As for pop-culture staples people are passionate about: Did Vikander ever hear about her costar's famous twin older sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in her native Sweden growing up?

"Yes! Didn't everyone?" she says, laughing.

The actresses' new sci-fi thriller The Assessment focuses on a couple, played by Olsen and Himesh Patel, in the dystopian near future, as they endure a visit from Vikander's "assessor," Virginia, who puts them through a series of tests to determine whether they're fit to be parents.

In a separate chat with PEOPLE, Olsen says what the Fleur Fortuné-directed movie "makes me reflect on most is ... what we assume are innate privileges, freedoms and liberties, and how we assume that they're innate depending on where we are born."

As for the questions the film poses, Olsen continues, "What is the intention? Why are we deserving? What are we going to do differently? What kind of child are we going to bring into this world that make us so privileged to be able to use all these resources?"

"So the reason why I loved the story so much is because it has all that kind of messaging, but it's done in such an elegant, simple way without hitting you over the head with it constantly," she adds.

The Assessment is in theaters now.
