A woman says her husband is upset that she refuses to discuss having a baby at 41 years old.

In a post on a Mumsnet.com forum, the woman wrote that her husband, whom she already has an 18-year-old daughter with, wants to try to have another child, but she doesn't want to and won't even have a conversation on the matter.

Explaining that she doesn't know why her husband is bringing a second kid up after "all this time," and that they never spoke about it before, the woman said, "I've said we’re done and too old to be going through that again."

"Apparently I'm being unfair by [being] unwilling to discuss it," she added.

"I don’t think 41 is too old, but I think you’d be insane to have another when your eldest and only is 18," another said.

"Personally, I wouldn't want to go back to [parenting] a baby when my first is 18. I'd be looking forward to a new chapter in life," added one other.

Some others, meanwhile, expressed that they thought the woman and her husband should embrace their lives currently, rather than turn back the clock and have another child.

"You’ve been parenting for 18 years and are only just free and most importantly YOU DON’T WANT A BABY. Book a fabulous vacation in a luxury hotel and show him that this is what child-free living is like when you are still young enough to enjoy it," someone said.

"I’m 40 years old and pregnant with my third, but my first two are 5 and 2 [years old]. I don’t think there’s any way I’d do it in your situation with at least an 18-year age gap. Also pregnancy at 40 is wrecking me, I’m [exhausted] and permanently in pain. It’s a big difference to my other pregnancies," another parent added.
