Celebrity hairstylist Graham Nation's partner, Tonya Brewer, has spoken out for the first time since his sudden death.

Brewer, a Hollywood makeup artist, posted an emotional compilation in honor of what would've been Nation's 40th birthday. He died at a gym in Los Angeles on Friday, Feb. 14 at the age of 39.

The heartbreaking clip, which was uploaded to Instagram on March 16, featured black-and-white videos of Brewer and Nation.

It captured sweet moments throughout the couple's relationship and footage of Nation bonding with their 7-month-old son, Romeo, whose arrival was announced in August 2024. Rather than a song, Brewer set the Instagram Reel to what appeared to be a collection of voice messages left by Nation.

"Happy birthday baby. You have my heart. I’m gonna love you forever," she wrote.

Brewer uploaded many photos with Nation to Instagram over the course of their romance. The last post featuring the hairstylist (whose real name was Graham Cheek) when he was alive was shared on Jan. 3. The carousel included a family snapshot of the pair with their little one, in addition to a father-son picture of Nation and Romeo.

"2024 you were so good to me," she wrote.

Throughout his career, Nation worked with a roster of celebrity clients including Demi Moore, Alix Earle, Jared Leto, Simone Ashley, Venus Williams and Emma Chamberlain. Per industry publication Behind the Chair, the pro — who was represented by The Wall Group — also served as an educator and ambassador for brands like SexyHair and Fekkai. Weeks before his death, he styled Catherine O'Hara for her Michelob Ultra Super Bowl commercial.

On Feb. 19, a GoFundMe fundraiser was created by "dear friends" of the family to financially support Brewer and Romeo. "Graham’s passing came completely unexpected. The family is left bereft and bewildered and is in a state of tragic shock and sorrow," the GoFundMe page stated.

"As Graham continues to be a ray of light and inspiration, we will continue to keep his legacy alive for his son Romeo," the website also read.

The list of donors include The Wall Group, Jenna Dewan, hairstylist Jen Atkin, and multiple haircare brands such as K18 Hair, United Hair and Covet & Mane. As of this writing, over $200K has been raised.
