Robbie Williams Did Shrooms at Bono's House — and Mistook a Window for the 'Most Beautiful Painting I'd Ever Seen'

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder — just ask Robbie Williams.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Monday, Jan. 13, the Better Man actor was asked by a fan calling in if he had ever done mushrooms, and if yes, what his favorite experience was.

"I was doing shrooms at Bono’s house, and it was very late – well, very early in the morning," Williams, 50, recalled namedropping the U2 frontman. "And I was walking down one of his corridors, and I saw this painting, which was the most beautiful painting I’d ever seen."

Williams noted that he wasn't surprised that Bono, 64, would have "the most beautiful painting you would ever see."

Bono then appeared and Williams told him how much he admired the artwork. "Robbie, that's the window," he recalled Bono telling him while he was under the influence. "It was the window," he deadpanned.

Host Andy Cohen let out a huge laugh, while actress and fellow guest Julia Stiles quipped, "Of course they made a movie about your life. They need to make a sequel."

Williams did note that sobriety had changed his life and how it changed again when he met his wife Ayda Field, and again once they had their first child, Teddy.

Stiles, 43, stopped by Watch What Happens Live to promote her directorial debut Wish You Were Here. Williams, meanwhile, chatted about his upcoming biopic Better Man.

The film, in which Williams portrays a CGI monkey version of himself, is "based on the true story of the meteoric rise, dramatic fall, and remarkable resurgence of British pop superstar Robbie Williams, one of the greatest entertainers of all time," the synopsis notes.

"It follows Robbie's journey from childhood, to being the youngest member of chart-topping boyband Take That, through to his unparalleled achievements as a record-breaking solo artist — all the while confronting the challenges that stratospheric fame and success can bring," the movie's summary adds.

Better Man is in theaters now.
