Mötley Crüe Cancel Boardwalk Rock Festival Concert Due to Vince Neil’s Health Concerns 

Mötley Crüe is canceling an upcoming appearance amid singer Vince Neil's health concerns.

A month after announcing the delay of their Las Vegas residency, the rock group announced that they could no longer perform at the Boardwalk Rock Festival in Ocean City, Md., on Saturday, May 17.

According to a previous concert poster, the rock group was scheduled to co-headline the festival's opening day with Def Leppard.

Alice in Chains is taking their place now, an updated festival poster shared on Instagram on Wednesday, April 2, shows. Sunday, May 18 co-headliners Nickelback and Shinedown are still expected to perform.

"Due to health concerns, @motleycrue will no longer be able to join us in Ocean City this May. We'll miss them and wish them well," the Boardwalk festival shared in its post.

Also included was a direct statement from the band.

"Mötley Crüe will be unable to perform at Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City, Md., on May 17 as Vince Neil is recuperating after a required medical procedure advised by the doctors. Vince's health comes first, and we fully support him in prioritizing his recovery. Please join us in wishing him well," the statement read.

The band apologized to their fans and everyone looking forward to the show and extended their appreciation to their fans for their understanding.

They also thanked Alice in Chains for taking their place in the lineup, expressing that they are "immensely grateful to them for stepping up and bringing their awesome show to Boardwalk Rock."

"Thank you to all the Crüeheads for your continued support. We can't wait for Vince to fully recuperate and to be back onstage again soon," the statement said.

While the band didn't specify any details about Neil's medical procedure, they first announced that Neil had undergone an unnamed "required medical procedure" in March.

The band cited it as the reason behind postponing its Las Vegas Residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM - initially scheduled for March 28 to April 19, 2025 - to September 2025.

"To all the Crüeheads who were looking forward to see us this Spring, I’m truly sorry. My health is my top priority so I can bring you the awesome shows you deserve, and I can’t wait to return to the stage," Neil said in a statement included with the announcement

Thank you for all the well wishes that keep reaching me. Your support means more than you know," the statement continued.

The band announced their Las Vegas residency in October 2024.
