Jimmy Kimmel wants to know just how stretchy Pedro Pascal is in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
During Pascal's appearance on the Monday, March 24 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote the second season of HBO's The Last of Us, Kimmel, 57, noted that audiences did not see Pascal's character Reed Richards — a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic — use his superpowers in the movie's first trailer, released Feb. 4.
"I don't know. You see all the saliva evaporating in my throat — now I'm nervous," Pascal, 49, said, when Kimmel asked if a second trailer will give audiences their first glimpse at Mr. Fantastic's powers. The actor then feigned surprise when Kimmel slyly asked him whether "all of Mr. Fantastic's body parts stretch," or if Pascal has ever asked that question himself. "[Because] it was my first question," Kimmel said.
"Everything has to stretch," Pascal said with a laugh, delighting the talk show host and the live audience.

Kimmel even went so far as to find a panel from a past Fantastic Four comic strip in which Sue Storm, whom Vanessa Kirby portrays in the upcoming Marvel Studios movie, mentions Mr. Fantastic's "wonderful set of abilities you acquired from those cosmic rays" while she lays in a bed.
"Meaning he's an incredible conversationalist in bed," Pascal joked. "I don't think that's what they mean at all, no," Kimmel responded.

Pascal and Kirby, 36, costar with Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which launches into theaters July 25. The movie is the third iteration of Marvel Comics' flagship superhero group brought to the big screen; Ioan Gruffud portrayed Mr. Fantastic in the two Fantastic Four movies released in the 2000s, while Miles Teller took the role for 2015's Fantastic Four.
