Zoe Saldaña Shouts Out Husband's 'Beautiful Hair' in Emotional Oscars 2025 Acceptance Speech

The star took home the Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in 'Emilia Pérez'

Zoe Saldaña made a special shoutout to her husband's "beautiful hair" during her moving Oscars acceptance speech.

On Sunday, March 2, the Emilia Pérez star, 46, took the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to accept the award for for Best Supporting Actress.

Before beginning her speech, Saldaña exclaimed, "Mami! Mami!" as she waved to her mother, then told the crowd, "My mom is here; my whole family's here. I am floored by this honor."

She also took a moment to call out her husband Marco Perego saying, "To my husband with that beautiful hair. The biggest honor of my life is being your partner. You hung the moon in our beautiful perfect sons, Cy, Bowie and Zen. They fill our sky every night with stars."

She concluded by saying, "I am a proud child of immigrant parents with dreams and dignity and hardworking hands, and I am the first American of Dominican origin to accept an Academy Award and I know I will not be the last. I hope."

Saldaña was nominated alongside Monica Barbaro (A Complete Unknown), Ariana Grande (Wicked), Felicity Jones (The Brutalist) and Isabella Rossellini (Conclave).

For her big night, Saldaña wore a wine-colored Saint Laurent gown courtesy of designer Anthony Vaccarello and her stylist Petra Flannery. The ensemble featured an embellished bodice and skirt in washed double satin. The actress paired the design with sheer over-the-elbow gloves.

Speaking with E! on the red carpet, Saldaña praised Vaccarello and Flannery for always putting creativity first. "I just have to show up bright and early and just in great spirits," she said.

Saldaña walked the carpet with Perego, who wore a classic suit and bow tie. The couple tied the knot in 2013 and share three kids: twin boys Cy and Bowie, 10, and 8-year-old son Zen.

When asked by E! if her kids approved of her Oscars look, Saldaña joked: "They like it as long as my belly isn’t out."
