What do Emma Watson's 'Harry Potter' Costars Think About Her 'Beauty and the Beast' Role?

As Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, Emma Watson has already proven she can pull off the role of a library-loving bookworm – a key qualification for her upcoming turn as Belle in the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast.

But can she sing?

“I imagine she’s good,” Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood in the films, told PEOPLE at Universal Orlando’s Celebration of Harry Potter on Friday.

“She’s good at everything else!” said James Phelps, who played Fred Weasley.

“Emma works so hard,” adds Lynch. “Even if she’s not naturally a good singer, she will make herself great at it. She’s very conscientious.”

So, who should play the Beast in the film, to be directed by Oscar winner Bill Condon?

“People keep tweeting me like, ‘Tom Felton for the Beast!’ ” Lynch says of their fellow Potter castmate, who played sinister Slytherin Draco Malfoy. (Felton does have a not-so-hidden soft side, after all.)

The Phelps brothers and Lynch joined costar Michael Gambon (Professor Dumbledore) at the three-day event, which allows Potterheads to explore Universal Orlando’s Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley while participating in sorting hat demonstrations, wand-dueling lessons and tasting the newest variety of butterbeer.

Although the films wrapped more than five years ago, attending fan gatherings like Celebration of Harry Potter is “lovely,” says Oliver Phelps (George Weasley). What’s the most extreme example of fandom they’ve encountered so far?

“Someone tweeted us a photo of their twins named James and Oliver,” says James.

“I’m a crazy fan inside,” says Lynch, “so nothing seems strange to me.”

The Irish actress recently had some fun on Twitter marrying her intense passion for Potter with a certain Oscar-nominated star.

“Crumplehorned Snorkack is my favorite actor,” she Tweeted along with a photo of Benedict Cumberbatch.

(For those who aren’t up on their Potter lore, the Crumple-Horned Snorkack is an elusive magical creature that may or may not exist purely in Luna’s imagination.)

“I just thought it was the best joke,” says Lynch. “You can say, ‘Snickerdoodle Poodlepatch’ and you still know who it is, because his name is so ridiculous. I love it.”
