Meghan Markle Shares Her Top Hostessing Tip: 'My Girlfriends Would Absolutely Expect That'

Meghan Markle is perfecting the art of hostessing.

In episode five of her new Netflix series With Love, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, invites friends Abigail Spencer and Kelly McKee Zajfen over and shares a top hosting tip before the women even arrive.

On the show, Meghan makes a platter with veggies and explains how to style and present it on the plate.

“Never let a guest arrive without something to feed them on a table,” she said. “My girlfriends would absolutely expect that I would have something to feed them.”

Elsewhere in the series, Meghan explains that she feels food is a love language, adding in episode five, “I’m not a chef, I’m comfortable in the kitchen.”

The episode also sees Meghan put her “sprinkle flowers” — which are edible flowers — in an ice cube tray to make ice cubes.

“I love taking something simple and elevating it,” she said.

Spencer, who was one of Meghan’s co-stars on Suits, said, “Meghan was head of morale on the show. Meghan likes to plan fun for everyone.”

Back in episode one of the eight-episode series, Meghan said, “The joy of hostessing for me is surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking of their whole experience from morning ‘til evening” — and that same episode sees Meghan prepare a welcome basket for friend and makeup artist Daniel Martin before he comes to stay with her.

“It’s the little details,” she said.

In the show’s finale, Meghan hosts her husband Prince Harry, her mother Doria Ragland and friends for a celebratory brunch, adding in a voiceover that “sharing all those discoveries and everything I love with the people that I love — it brings me so much joy.”

Through With Love, Meghan, she is sharing her passions with her biggest audience yet.
