Lady A's Charles Kelley Expecting Baby No. 2 with Wife Cassie: 'Biggest Surprise of Our Lives'

Lady A's Charles Kelley is going to be a dad again!

The 43-year-old country singer and his wife Cassie, 42, are expecting their second baby together, sharing the exciting news in a surprise post on their Instagrams on Tuesday, March 25. In the carousel of photos taken by Mary Craven Dawkins, Cassie can be seen wearing an off-the-shoulder green dress which accentuates her growing belly.

In one photo, Charles wears a pair of tan slacks and a knit tan top, placing an arm around his wife. The couple's 9-year-old son, Ward, can be seen in other photos, posing between his two parents.

"Biggest surprise of our lives! Baby Kelley coming early fall 2025 🍼👶🏻🤰🏼 Big brother is the MOST excited 💛💛💛 @charleskelley photos: @marycravenphotography," the couple wrote in their caption.

(The two have been open about their struggles in the past, welcoming Ward in 2016 after years of fertility issues.)

Kelley's happy news comes after a baby boom for Lady A. In July, Dave Haywood welcomed his third baby with wife Kelli Cashiola Haywood, son Joseph. Then in February, Hillary Scott announced she is expecting her fourth baby with husband Chris Tyrrell.

Back in February, Kelley shared a sweet post in honor of his wife's birthday. Posting a photo of Cassie with their son Ward, Kelley took a moment to celebrate his wife.

"Happy Birthday to the best wife and mother on the planet," Kelly shared. "You’ve changed my life in so many ways and still so many years of adventure ahead of us. Love you @cassiemkelley."

In the past, Kelley has been open about his journey to sobriety. In a 2023 interview, he recalled his wife telling him that their then 7-year-old son was noticing that something was happening with his dad.

"Cassie would tell me some stories about how little things that Ward would say that I didn't even know he was noticing," he recalled. "You know, 'Daddy's talking a little funny,' or, 'You and Daddy argue a lot.'"

Kelley said he was "crushed" by the revelation, noting, "he's the most important thing in my life."
