Khloé Kardashian Says She Skipped 2024 People's Choice Awards Due to 'Extreme Migraine'

Khloé Kardashian may have won big at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards Sunday, but The Kardashians star has admitted she doesn’t feel “worthy” of the honor. 

Speaking in two videos posted on Instagram on Monday, Kardashian, 39, shared that she was “blown away” to have scooped the reality TV star of the year award for the sixth time as she also revealed the reason behind her absence from the ceremony. 

“I can’t believe I won People’s Choice again. I really, really can’t. I am so incredibly thankful,” an excited Kardashian began in the first video. “This makes no sense to me.”

Going on to comment on it being her sixth time winning the award, she continued, “The very first couple of years I thought this has to be a fluke, people feel bad for me. It was like, sure, could be a mistake. I don’t know, but now this is my sixth year winning and that is sort of hard for my brain to understand and I don’t feel worthy.” 

The Good American co-founder then shared why she skipped the awards ceremony and admitted she felt “terrible” that she missed out. “I do just wanna say why I wasn’t there last night. I suffer from really extreme migraines … there was not much else that could have kept me away from being there last night, so thank you guys,” she said in a second video. 

Elsewhere in the video, Kardashian noted that she was “so grateful” that her family’s show The Kardashians also picked up the award for best reality show, and called the honor “so special.”

Kardashian’s Instagram post also featured a snap of her numerous People’s Choice Awards gongs, along with photos of her previously attending the ceremony. 

“Wow! I truly don’t have the words to fully express my gratitude!!!! This is a short video of me trying to find the words 🤪,” she captioned the post. “I am blown away!!!! I am so thankful! I love you so so much!! Truly!”

“Words are just words but I hope you can feel my love and admiration for each and everyone one of you!!" she continued. "Thank you to everyone who voted. Thank you so much to @peopleschoice and to @kardashianshulu."

"I can’t believe I have won 6 years in a row. Truly I thought the first few years was a fluke or a sympathy win lol this is wild!!!" added Kardashian. "God bless you all! I love you! I feel terrible I wasn’t there. Damn these migraines! Ugh ok I’ll stop rambling. I’m just so taken a back and excited 🤸🏼‍♀️🤸🏼‍♀️ wow! I still can’t get over this ♥️.”
