Jonathan Majors Says It's 'Fantastic' to Get Support from Hollywood Costars Like Michael B. Jordan as He Returns to Industry

Jonathan Majors is feeling the love from colleagues and former collaborators like Michael B. Jordan as he gets back to work in Hollywood following controversies.

The 35-year-old actor is returning to movie theaters with his new film Magazine Dreams in March 2025. The sports drama is Majors' first starring role since his 2023 assault trial where he was found guilty of misdemeanor assault in the third degree, recklessly causing physical injury as well as harassment in the second degree, which is a violation.

During a March 19 appearance on Sherri, Majors reacted to his Creed III costar Jordan, 38, expressing interest in working with him again, saying it was "fantastic" to feel so supported.

"There's a point where I wanted to give up on myself, and I couldn't," Majors said. "And I kept driving, and to look up and see friends, colleagues, brothers go, 'Hey man. Yeah, you were down, but we believe in you now.' And that's the important part."

He continued, saying, "I got to a certain place, and they say, 'We see you, we love you and we believe in you now. And what you're going to do forward.' And that meant the world to me."

In a February 2025 interview with GQ, Jordan praised Majors for "his resilience and his strength through it all."

"I'm glad he's good. That's my boy," the Creed actor said, confirming that he would work with Majors again in the future.

His comments came after he shared the trailer for Magazine Dreams on social media, adding several applause emojis in support of Majors' project.

Majors isn't only getting lifted up by friends in Hollywood. Host Sherri Shepherd also asked the actor what he thinks about the support he's received from Black women.

"It's been really beautiful," he replied. "You know we talked about the incidents in my youth [referring to the recent revelation that he was sexually abused at the age of 9], you wear that. And people sometimes confuse their character with their trauma. And you start moving a certain way and start having limiting thoughts because something happened to you. And when I see sisters holler at me in the street when I'm walking down the road, and they just pull me aside and want to pray with me on the corner ... Oh, I feel emboldened, and I feel confident and I feel encouraged to keep going the way I was going."

The actor's controversies started after he was arrested for an alleged altercation with ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in March 2023. He was not sentenced to jail time but did have to complete a domestic violence treatment program as a result of his convictions.

Jabbari dropped a separate assault and defamation lawsuit against Majors in November 2024. The allegations in the lawsuit were "dismissed with prejudice."

Magazine Dreams premieres in theaters on March 21, 2025. Majors has reportedly lined up another role in a revenge thriller called Merciless.
