Taylor Swift told Selena Gomez she loved her song first.

In a new interview with iHeartRadio, Gomez spoke about sharing her new music with her longtime close friend, Taylor Swift. In an emotional moment, she recalled playing her 2019 hit song, "Lose You to Love Me," to Swift and her mother, Andrea Swift, prior to its release.

"When I played her 'Lose You to Love Me,' right before it came out, she and her amazing mom started to cry and then I started crying. You know, it's very sweet," Gomez said. The emotional self-love anthem appeared on her 2020 album Rare.

The singer and actress elaborated on the reason she especially appreciates Swift's advice on her unreleased music. "I value her opinion so much, because she's super honest. It's very helpful, and I love people who are honest."

Gomez recently released a collaboration album with her fiancé Benny Blanco, titled I Said I Love You First. Swift gave Gomez a shoutout on her Instagram Stories upon the album's recent release, writing "I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDD."
