"O, beware, my lord, of jealousy; It is the green-eyed monster which doth mock the meat it feeds on."

That's arguably the most famous line for William Shakespeare’s Othello, which is now back on Broadway in a starry revival led by two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington and Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal.

But those who haven't seen the production yet shouldn't be jealous — PEOPLE has the exclusive first look at new photos from the play.

Photographed by Julieta Cervantes, the images capture Washington and Gyllenhaal in character as Moorish general Othello and his ambitious lieutenant Iago, respectively. The two don military camouflage in one scene, and face off elsewhere in the play in more formal attire.

Also seen in the photos is actress Molly Osborne, who makes her Broadway debut in this production as Desdemona, Othello's loyal wife. Shakespeare’s tragedy — penned around 1603, under its full name: The Tragedy of Othello, the Moor of Venice — follows Othello as Iago manipulates him into suspecting Desdemona of infidelity.

The two shots of Osborne capture that journey. First, Osborne is snapped while dressed in a white suit, lovingly holding Washington's hand. Then, in a moment of less uncertainty her character, the actress wears a blue nightgown and kneels on a bed, pleading with a stern-faced Washington (now in Othello's general garb) as he looks on seemingly unconvinced of her innocence.

Elsewhere in the pictures, Snow White star Andrew Burnap (Cassio) gets into a brawl with Ezra Knight (Montano) as their army brothers and sisters attempt to hold them back. That battle, readers of Othello might remember, plays a significant role in the play’s unfolding tragedy and Iago's masterful plan.

This is the first time Othello has been on Broadway in over 40 years. The last revival, in 1982, starred James Earl Jones as Othello, Christopher Plummer as Iago and Dianne Wiest as Desdemona.

Tony Award-winning director Kenny Leon helms this production. Lead producer Brian Anthony Moreland spearheaded the production to the stage, alongside a sea of co-producers including Real Housewives of Atlanta alumna Kandi Burrus and her husband, Todd Tucker.

Joining Washington, Gyllenhaal, Osborne, Burnap and Knight in principal roles are Anthony Michael Lopez (as Roderigo), Daniel Pearce (as Brabantio), Kimber Elayne Sprawl (as Emilia), Neal Bledsoe (as The Duke of Venice), Julee Cerda (as Bianca), Gene Gillette (as Gratiano) and Rob Heaps (as Ludovico).

William Connell, Ty Fanning, Ben Graney, Daniel Reece, Christina Sajous and Greg Wood flush out the ensemble cast. Abiola Obatolu is the production's swing.

Washington has cut his teeth with Shakespeare in the past. He starred in N.Y.C. productions of Shakespeare's Coriolanus and The Tragedy of Richard III at The Public Theater in 1979 and 1990, respectively.

The 70-year-old actor had his Broadway debut in 1988’s Checkmates before going on to star as Troy Maxson in the 2001 revival of August Wilson’s play Fences, for which he received a Tony Award. Washington also starred in the 2005 Broadway production of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar.

Gyllenhaal, 44, made his Broadway debut in 2014’s Constellations and later starred in the 2017 revival of Sunday in the Park with George and the 2019 production of Sea Wall/A Life — the latter of which nabbed him a Tony nomination.

Othello is now in previews at Broadway’s Barrymore Theatre. It opens Sunday, March 23, and plays a strictly limited 15-week engagement through Sunday, June 8.

Even in previews, Othello has garnered tons of buzz. In fact, with seats reportedly selling as high as $921, the show has already broken box office records, grossing $2.8 million alone last week — more than any play has ever made in 7 days on Broadway.

"We're very thankful [for] the support from the fans," Burruss told PEOPLE earlier this month. "Believe me: Jake, Denzel [and] all the people in the show, they are here to bring it and you will not be disappointed."

Tickets for Othello are now on sale.
