Brenda Song was in for a surprise during childbirth!

The actress, 36, revealed on the Tuesday, Feb. 25 broadcast of Live with Kelly and Mark that her youngest son, Carson, 2, was desperate to be born and "came out on a contraction."

Song welcomed her two kids with fiancé Macaulay Culkin "15 months apart," as she shared on the talk show. Co-host Kelly Ripa related to the Running Point star’s experience, saying she and husband and co-host Mark Consuelos also had their kids close in age. "Yes, it’s a big surprise," the father of three added.

"It is," Song agreed. "I always say, my second son, he really wanted to be here. No doubt about it. He made that choice and I was very fortunate. I didn’t even push him out, he came out on a contraction. I was like, 'Oh, he’s ready to be here.'"

Ripa then shared a fond interaction she had with Culkin when she was "struggling with a stroller" after she welcomed her first son, Michael, who was born in 1997. The All My Children alum said she was trying to enter a Starbucks but "people in the city don’t care if you have children."

The talk show host continued, "And this young man came out of his way and opened the door and held it for me and it was, in fact, Macaulay Culkin." She added that Culkin is "a good one," to which Song joked, "That’s so sweet. Alright, I guess I’ll keep him."

When Consuelos went on to ask Song how she and her partner relax after a long day of work," she said, "We’re big kids. We’re very communicative. We tend to spend our evenings chatting, going over our day. He’s my best friend."

The actress added that they talk about sports, watch ESPN, and "love playing Mario Kart." Though, when it comes to video games, she admitted, "Sometimes it’s not as relaxing as it should be because I’m so competitive."

Song added, "I feel so fortunate that I have someone like that to spend my days with."

The Disney Channel alum and the Home Alone star met in 2014 before reuniting in Thailand three years later on the set of the movie Changeland, and the rest was history. Sources told PEOPLE in January 2022 that the couple were engaged and "excited for their future together."

Along with Carson, they share son Dakota, 3.

Song recently opened up about how motherhood changed her in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. "Becoming a mom, finding such fulfillment in my personal life has changed me so much," she said. "I feel like for the first time it's truly that next phase in my life. And with that being said, my priorities changed."

"That was the big difference," the actress continued. "I think that's what I was struggling with is our society really tells us as women to follow your dreams, do what you got to do, go out there, do your thing, girl, but also be a full-time mom, make sure you're at home and making dinner."
