Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross Talk Upcoming 10-Year Wedding Anniversary: 'We Always Celebrate' (Exclusive)

Ashlee Simpson Ross and Evan Ross are about to hit a milestone.

The couple, who will be married for 10 years in August, opened up to PEOPLE about their anniversary in an exclusive interview at the Chivas Regal Golden Hour Soiree during New York Fashion Week on Tuesday.

"We have big things coming up at the end of the year," Ashlee, 39, said. It's our 10-year anniversary, I turn 40, my son turns 16."

However, the pair said they try to keep their relationships "alive and fresh" by enjoying their relationship no matter what the day.

"We always celebrate and have the best time, but I feel like it doesn't have to just be that day," the "Pieces of Me" singer said. "It's finding those moments, which my husband's so good at."

She added: "I feel like if we haven't had a moment, [he'll] take me to a hotel or [if] we've been in kid land, he'll surprise me with a nice together alone moment, which is nice."

Evan, 35, said that it's important for them to be "able to have fun" and "still be young."

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay actor and the Melrose Place stars also opened up about their ideal date night:

For Ashlee, it's "not a night out."

"I'll do it, but it is really not for me anymore," she said, adding: "We do always have fun together."

She said that her ideal date night is actually "a movie, dinner and bed."

Ashlee and Evan initially met at a friend's birthday party and began dating in July 2013. Just a few months after they went public with their romance, they got engaged. They tied the knot in August 2014.

They have since welcomed two children together: son Ziggy Blu, 3, and daughter Jagger Snow, 7. Simpson Ross also shares son Bronx Mowgli, 15, with ex-husband Pete Wentz.

The couple have opened up about their love for one another throughout the years, even starring in their reality TV series Ashlee + Evan, which aired on E! for one season. They have also collaborated on music together. They regularly share updates on their relationship and family on social media.
