New England Patriots Quarterback Joshua Dobbs Is Engaged

Josh Dobbs is engaged!

The quarterback for the New England Patriots shared the happy news on Saturday, March 29. In a post on Instagram, Dobbs expressed his love and excitement for his future with new fiancée Jocelyn Lara. He also included photos from their special moment.

"To my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the most special person in my life, I'm excited to spend forever with you. ❤️ Cheers to the Dobbs!" he captioned the post.

The proposal was set at Boston Harbor. Photos show that Dobbs got down on one knee in front of a giant heart made of white roses. An elegant sign read, "Will you marry me?" Lara appeared giddy and emotional while surrounded by scattered white rose petals.

Dobbs and Lara were first linked in July 2021. The athlete posted a photo of the pair sharing a kiss in the sunshine on board a boat in the ocean surrounding Cabo San Lucas. In a post two days later, Dobbs shared more glimpses from the couple's getaway — including a ride on a jet ski, a snap of them sharing a laugh and Lara seemingly meeting Dobbs' family.

Since then, the pair have mainly kept their relationship to themselves, with the exception of Dobbs' sweet birthday tributes to Lara each year on Dec. 10. In 2021, he shared "the chronicles of Joce and Josh" as they traipsed through New York City, all smiles in each other's company.

The following year, Dobbs called Lara his "favorite person," alongside a range of selfies and snaps from dates and time spent together. In 2023, he thanked his longtime girlfriend for standing by him "through thick and thin," and the same post included a throwback photo of the couple, apparently on a date to a formal or prom.

Dobbs joined the New England Patriots on March 18, just under two weeks before proposing to Lara. Previously, he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2017 to 2022. He has also been part of the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Tennessee Titans, the Arizona Cardinals, the Minnesota Vikings and the San Francisco 49ers.
