The Knowles family are mourning the loss of a beloved family member.

Late on Sunday, Beyoncé's mom Tina Knowles, 70, shared a post on Instagram announcing that her brother Rowland Martin Buyince, known as Butch, had died at age 77 over the weekend.

"My Beautiful big brother Butch went to be with God this weekend. I will miss him so much ! He was a career Airforce man," she wrote alongside a black-and-white military photo of her late sibling.

"He loved riding Motorcycles was a black Belt in Karate and had the most beautiful green eyes and good looks. He was a great story teller," Tina continued.

"He had an incredible wife Jeanette and devoted daughter Dana two beautiful grandchildren Yvette and Roland. He was greatly loved. Sail on Butch❤️❤️Rowland Martin (Butch) Buyince' June 1946 - Feb 2024 RIP," she concluded.

In July 2022, Beyoncé dedicated her seventh studio album Renaissance to another late beloved family member, her "uncle Johnny." Beyoncé's mom Tina previously said Johnny was "more like a brother to me," despite being her sister's son.

"A big thank you to my Uncle Johnny," Beyoncé wrote on her website at the time. "He was my godmother and the first person to expose me to a lot of the music and culture that serve as inspiration for this album."

"Thank you to all of the pioneers who originate culture, to all of the fallen angels whose contributions have gone unrecognized for far too long. This is a celebration for you," Beyoncé, who was 17 years old when Johnny died from complications related to HIV, added.

Earlier this month, the “Break My Soul” singer announced she was dropping “Act II” of Renaissance in a commercial that aired during the Super Bowl on Feb. 11. She confirmed the second installment would be a country album, her first ever in her decades-long career.
