Tim Curry has a memoir on the way!

The iconic actor, 78, known for his memorable roles in It, Annie and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York has chronicled his decades-long career in a new memoir entitled Vagabond. Set to hit shelves in October, Curry's memoir offers a deeply personal glimpse into his life as never seen before.

Curry tells PEOPLE that there's no time like the present to publish his first memoir — 2025 will mark the 50th anniversary of his film debut in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and the 40th anniversary of Clue.

"I've had the time of my life revisiting my favorite memories over the past couple of years, and I'm shivering with anticipation to share them with you this fall," Curry tells PEOPLE.

Curry's wide reach across the worlds of film and Broadway are well documented, but his memoir seeks also to illuminate his childhood, personal life and behind-the-scenes moments of his acting career.

Vagabond will begin with Curry's military-brat childhood and boarding school years, then continue into his young adulthood at university and his first on-stage gig. He'll also spotlight the nuance of frequently alternating between television, film and stage acting.

Some of Curry's most iconic roles include Pennywise in the 1990 series It, based on Stephen King's novel of the same name, as well as King Arthur in both the Broadway and West End adaptations of Spamalot and the comical butler Wadsworth in Clue.

"Curry redefined what it meant to be a 'character actor,' portraying heroes and villains alike with complexity, nuance and a genuine understanding of human darkness," the memoir's synopsis reads, adding that he's "left an indelible imprint on children and adults alike, lending his instantly recognizable voice to dozens of cartoons, audiobooks and video games."
