virtually a near constant heatwave.
basically we've been as hot n dry as a bad year at the end of February , for weeks

Extreme fire risk ,
with the whole North Island under a
Total Fire Ban
Most under conserve water and water restrictions.
Many under No outside or non essential water use

Much of South Island much the same.

Fires breaking out everywhere.

fortunately our trees aren't as explosively volatile as Aussie's ,
but we do have millions of acres of Pine plantations/forests ,

so with the likelihood of this weather for another couple of months , or more ,
we're all on high alert.

We can always hope for a respite like Aussie just got though

fires and chopper pilots are at constant readyness .
Pretty much as soon as there's smoke now , they put up 3 or more choppers to water bomb it.
5 immediately the other day.

Clear, cool and beautiful today... but that weather actually brings a problem living in the big city... the high pressure and light winds holds the pollution in. One can see the brown haze on the horizon. Hey, we are all contributors to this because we all consume... BUT, you slugs.. I commute to work by bicycle... so don't blame me for automobile exhaust...
