Taylor Frankie Paul Shares Emotional Post Before Reuniting with Ex Dakota Mortensen for Son's First Birthday

Taylor Frankie Paul reflected on co-parenting with ex Dakota Mortensen ahead of their son Ever True's first birthday.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, 30, shared an emotional post on Instagram Stories on March 20 just before reuniting with her ex for the celebration. Alongside a teary-eyed selfie, she wrote, "planning [Ever's] birthday thinking about how tf am I sharing another baby." The post referenced her co-parenting with Mortensen, 32, after she confirmed the couple's split on Jan. 20.

Paul also shares two children, Indy and Ocean, with her ex-husband, Tate.

Despite their differences, the pair was all smiles at their son's first birthday party as Paul shared a sweet photo of them kissing his cheek while he ate his birthday cake.

Paul also shared an Instagram Reel from Ever's birthday party, where Mortensen and other family members were present. In the video, everyone at the party rubbed their butts, which Paul jokingly captioned, "Unfortunately for him, we’re all his emergency contacts."

In another Instagram post, Paul shared several photos of Ever and his siblings, writing, "I don’t know how I got so lucky to be your mommy. He is the sweetest soul and loves love."

"Needy like his daddy and stubborn like his mommy," she continued in her caption. "Just as hyper as his sister and brother. Couldn’t be more loved by his village he has beside him."

Paul added that this birthday was especially "emotional" for her since "it’s been such a transition phase" in the past year, adding that she wants everyone to "find peace in whatever direction it goes."

In the comments, Mortensen addressed Paul, writing, "Forever grateful to you for bringing our little man into this world. He’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. 🙏❤️."

Mortensen shared his own sentimental posts for Ever's birthday on his Instagram Stories, writing, "You will never know how much you saved me."

On Instagram, Mortensen also wrote about how Ever "completely changed everything in the best way possible."

"You’ve given me a kind of love I never knew existed, a purpose deeper than I ever imagined," he continued in the caption. "Every smile, every laugh, every milestone reminds me just how lucky I am to be your dad. No matter what, I will always be here for you. through every step, every challenge, and every victory."

He then concluded the caption, writing, "Being your dad is the greatest blessing and I thank God every day for you." Paul took to Mortensen's comments and added "He’s lucky to have you by his side 💙."

Mortensen and Paul officially began dating in July 2022 — months after she first split from her ex-husband Tate Paul. While the couple's ups and downs were documented throughout the first season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, they have been on good terms as they co-parent their son.

Paul shared a shirtless photo of Mortensen holding their son on her Instagram Stories on Jan. 27 to commemorate his 32nd birthday, writing, "wishing nothing but the best for you."

At the time, Paul's Mormon Wives cast mates Mikayla Matthews, Mayci Neeley, Jessi Ngatikaura and their husbands joined her and Mortensen in an intimate dinner to celebrate his birthday.

Ngatikaura posted a video of everyone singing "Happy Birthday" to Mortensen, writing, "Thanks for being the second-best member of Dadtok 😜" as a special birthday shoutout.
