90 Day's Gino Makes a Final Effort to Save His Relationship with Jasmine and Agrees to an Open Marriage: 'A New Beginning'

After much consideration, Gino has finally agreed to an open marriage with Jasmine.

Throughout this season of 90 Day: The Last Resort, Jasmine has begged Gino to consider the nontraditional option to satisfy her sexual needs. (Reminder: the couple has not had sex in nine months.)

So, Jasmine was surprised to hear her husband was considering the option after rebuffing through the retreat. She was even more stunned when he told her about his big decision on the March 17 episode of Last Resort.

“Don’t be so excited,” Gino teased upon seeing Jasmine’s reaction. But she insisted, “It means a lot.”

Gino first indicated he was considering an open marriage at the penultimate group therapy session of the retreat. In a confessional, Gino said he came around to the idea after thinking “Jasmine could leave me and cheat on me with someone else.”

“I feel like I was put in a corner and I needed to make a decision now, fast,” Gino explained, before adding: “As terrible as an open marriage sounds, this might be the only way to keep Jasmine in my life.”

To sweeten the deal, Jasmine shared her location with her husband for the sake of transparency. But some of their fellow cast members did not agree with Gino’s decision.

“What's the point of the GPS if she can have sex with other people anyways?” Rob asked, to which Gino replied, “Because I haven’t agreed to that yet.”

But that changed by the next day. “I did put some more thought into it and … I want to go forward with it,” Gino revealed while out shopping with his wife.

Jasmine’s jaw dropped. “I really thought that we will never figure it out,” she exclaimed.

In a confessional, Jasmine said she “finally” felt that Gino was fighting for their marriage. “This is honestly a miracle,” she added.

Explaining his decision, Gino told Jasmine, “I love you very much and I don't want to lose you. And I feel like I'm on the verge of losing you because you're always getting angry about not having intimacy.”

He continued, “You're always mad at me about it. I feel like I need to take action, like now.”

But Gino had one condition for the agreement. “If you end up getting too close to this person, we have to stop this," he warned Jasmine.

Jasmine agreed that she wanted to “protect” their marriage, as well. “Listen, this is not traditional. This is very hard, but I really want this to help us,” she said. “And if I have to stop seeing this person, it’s going to happen.”

Then, the conversation turned to Matt, the man who Jasmine suggested should be the third person in their marriage. Jasmine insisted Matt would only be in it “just to have fun,” and suggested Gino speak with him over the phone.

However, Gino was uninterested, which Jasmine found “very strange.” This caused Jasmine some concern.

“I'm worried about Gino refusing to talk to Matt because I think that he is not serious about having an open marriage as he is making me believe that he is," she said.

She added, “My biggest fear is Gino and I not agreeing on the rules for an open marriage or he not wanting it ... The person I will have intimacy with because I know that if that happens, we will go back to square one and we will be miserable again.”

Later on, at their final group therapy session of the retreat, both Gino and Jasmine expressed optimism about the direction their relationship was headed. When asked to pick a word to describe their relationship status, Jasmine picked “evolve” and Gino picked “comeback.”

Then, Jasmine revealed to the group that Gino had accepted her proposal for the open marriage. “It's like a new beginning for us,” she remarked.

Gino admitted he “never thought” he would be in an open marriage, but reiterated that he felt the need to “take action” to save his relationship with Jasmine.

Before the recommitment ceremony, Gino promised that he and Jasmine would create a written agreement detailing the guidelines of their open marriage.

But when asked if he would be open to speaking with Matt before the recommitment ceremony, Gino remained hesitant. “I'm really in no hurry to talk to Matt, honestly,” he confessed.

Eventually, Gino caved and agreed to the phone call. “I want to make sure that he's okay with the rules, make sure that he's okay as a person,” Gino explained in a joint confessional with Jasmine.

When questioned by other cast members about his decision, Gino argued, “She’s going to be happier and I’m going to be happier, and then we won't be fighting and s–– all the time ... we're going to come together at some point.”

Later that evening, Gino and Jasmine sat down for their chat with Matt. They agreed that Gino would not see Matt during the video chat.

Tears welled up in Jasmine’s eyes as she prepared to make the call. “I'm very nervous, she admitted, later adding, “I just want you to know that I love you and you are my person, nobody else's.”
