Leave it to Shakira to celebrate her birthday on the Grammys stage!

The pop superstar is turning 48 on Sunday, Feb. 2, the same day she is slated to take the stage at the 2025 Grammy Awards for a performance — and she teased some of the moves she’ll debut at the Crypto.com Arena ceremony ahead of the big day.

On Saturday, Feb. 1, the three-time Grammy winner shared photos of herself rehearsing for her performance at the award show on Instagram, showing off some of her signature dance moves in behind-the-scenes pictures lensed by photographer Nicolas Gerardin.

In one shot, she grabs her hair and pops her hip, and in another, she gets down low and shows off her flexibility on a rehearsal mat, resting on her calves and hands as she pushes out her abdomen in a classic Shakira pose.

“I'm coming back to the GRAMMYs stage and on my birthday!” the singer wrote in the caption. “See you tomorrow night. 🎶✨ #GRAMMYs.”

The “She Wolf” singer is one of several talented musicians set to take the stage at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday. The lineup of live performers, as previously announced by the Recording Academy, also includes Benson Boone, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Charli xcx, Doechii, RAYE, Sabrina Carpenter and Teddy Swims.

And, like her fellow performers, Shakira is also nominated for an award at the ceremony. The singer is up for best Latin pop album for her 12th studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. Released in March 2024, the record — which translates to Women Don't Cry Anymoremarked her first album release in seven years.

She has previously taken home best Latin pop album in 2018 for El Dorado and 2001 for Shakira - MTV Unplugged, plus a win for best Latin rock/alternative album in 2006 for Fijación Oral Vol. 1.

Shakira’s birthday performance at the Grammys also comes as the star is preparing to hit the road for her 2025 Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. The North American leg, which was previously postponed, will now kick off in May and run through June, and includes several added stadium shows to accommodate more fans.

The tour also marks Shakira's first world tour since 2018's El Dorado World Tour, as well as an emotional moment for the singer, for whom Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran was a crucial part of her grieving process following her 2022 split with ex Gerard Piqué (Shakira shares sons Milan, 12, and Sasha, 10 with retired athlete.)

"For many months after my separation I had been silent, trying to begin my mourning, but I couldn't really begin to grieve until I started writing music," she told GQ Spain in October 2024. "It was my way of healing. And it continues to be.”

“Grief is a process that is not linear,” she added at the time. “It is full of peaks and valleys."

The Grammy Awards takes place on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 8 p.m. ET at the Crypto.com Arena. Viewers can tune in live on CBS and Paramount+.
