Prince Harry Reveals Even the Queen's Corgis Are in Love with Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle has received the royal stamp of approval from Queen Elizabeth’s beloved corgis!

During Meghan and Prince Harry’s revealing engagement interview on Monday, the couple revealed that the L.A.-born actress has not only met the Queen a couple times already, she also immediately won over her dogs.

“It’s incredible,” Meghan said about meeting the Queen. “To be able to meet her through his lens, not just with his honor and respect for her as Monarch, but with the love he has for her as his grandmother. She’s an incredible woman.”

Harry then added: “The corgis took to her straight away. ‘I’ve spent the last 33 years being barked at — this one walks in, absolutely nothing.” And Meghan, who has two dogs herself, replied: “They were laying on my feet during tea!”

Harry added: ‘Just wagging tails — and I was just like, argh.”

When asked if she has already brought her dogs over to the U.K. with her, Meghan replied: “Well, I have two dogs that I’ve had for quite a long time, both my rescue pups. And one is now staying with very close friends and my other little guy is – yes he’s in the U.K., he’s been here for a while.

In addition to the four-legged royals, Meghan has won over all of Harry’s family members, especially Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Harry said: “William was longing to meet her and so was Catherine, so you know being our neighbors we managed to get that in a couple of – well quite a few times now and Catherine has been absolutely amazing, as has William as well, you know, fantastic support.”

Markle then added of Kate: “She’s been wonderful.”

The couple has also had a few visits with Harry’s father, Prince Charles.

“A handful of teas and meetings and all sorts of gatherings over at his place as well,” Harry said. “So the family together have been a solid support and my grandparents as well have been wonderful throughout this whole process and they’ve known for quite some time. So how they – how they haven’t told anybody is – is again a miracle in itself. But now the whole family have come together and have been a huge amount of support.

Meghan added: “They’ve been amazing.”

The couple announced their engagement Monday morning and made their official debut as an engaged couple outside Kensington Palace.
