Robert De Niro and Tiffany Chen Have a Glam Date Night at White House State Dinner

Robert De Niro and Tiffany Chen took date night all the way to the White House!

On Wednesday, April 10, the couple attended the White House state dinner as guests of President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden. The dinner was held to honor Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko.

De Niro, 80, and Chen both opted for simple, classy outfits for the evening. The Killers of the Flower Moon star donned a classic black tuxedo with a white dress shirt. Meanwhile, the martial arts instructor wore an elegant floor-length, sleeveless white gown paired with a cream-covered shawl with black accents that she draped over her shoulders.

Additional guests included Jeff Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sánchez, Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, NBC correspondent Kelly O'Donnell and Japanese American Olympians Kristi Yamaguchi and Alex and Maia Shibutani.

De Niro and Chen have been stepping out quite a bit lately. In March, they were spotted chatting and laughing in Los Angeles after dinner with famed chef Nobu Matsuhisa, whom the legendary actor co-founded the restaurant Nobu with. That same month the couple held hands at the Academy Awards, where De Niro was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Killers of the Flower Moon.

April is shaping up to be a big month for them, as well. On April 6, their daughter Gia Virginia celebrated her first birthday. Gia is De Niro's seventh child, and Chen's first. He is also dad to Drena, 52, and Raphael, 47, with first wife Diahnne Abbott; twins Julian and Aaron, 28, with his ex-girlfriend Toukie Smith, and Elliot, 26, and Helen Grace, 12, with ex-wife Grace Hightower.

In February, The Irishman actor told PEOPLE that he's loving being dad to a baby again.

"[When I] look at her, everything else goes away,” he said. “So it’s a great joy and relief to just be with her in the moment."

Chen and De Niro met on the set of the 2015 film The Intern, but they didn't spark dating rumors until 2021. Since then, they've largely kept the details of their relationship private outside of announcing the arrival of their daughter.
