It'll Be a Boy for Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard and Wife Hayley

Tyler Hubbard is getting ready to be a dad — to a son!

The Florida Georgia Line singer, 30, and his pregnant wife Hayley revealed the sex of their first child on the way in a Dirt Bikes or Diamonds party Thursday, where the inside of the elaborately decorated on-theme cake by Nashville, Tennessee-based bakery Crumb de la Crumb was dyed blue.

“We’re both over the moon that our first will be a little boy!” Hayley tells PEOPLE exclusively, sharing photos from the event attended by family and close friends, who cast their votes on a chalkboard before the couple cut the cake.

Adds the mom-to-be, “I thought it might be a boy, but Tyler was 1,000 percent confident it would be — so confident that some of our friends brought us baby boy gifts.”

The couple of almost two years are surrounded by babies in fellow country superstar pals Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany, who are also expecting a son, plus Thomas Rhett and wife Lauren, who have a baby girl on the way and recently adopted daughter Willa Gray, 19 months.

“Now Britt and I will be having boys within two weeks of each other, and I’m sure when they get older they’ll be fighting over the Akins girls!” Hayley, 30, tells PEOPLE.

The Hubbards shared their baby joy exclusively with PEOPLE Wednesday, with Tyler admitting, “it’s something we’ve looked forward to for a while.”

“Trying to have the balance of raising a kid and raising a family with the lifestyle that we have, and the pace of life that we live — it’s going to be fun, it’s going to be challenging and something that we’re really, really excited about,” the “H.OL.Y.” crooner added.

Said Hayley, who runs a blog called The Vogue Trip, of how she and Tyler learned they were expecting, “We’d just gotten back from California and I wasn’t sleeping … I woke up one night and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh. I’m pregnant.’ ”

The couple stepped out Wednesday night for the CMT Awards in Nashville, where the mom-to-be kept her barely-there belly (baby boy is due in late December) under wraps in a white belted Marissa Webb jumpsuit featuring a plunging neckline.

“This is a big week for us, but you know what? Everything else just kind of goes away when you put it into perspective and something like this is happening for us,” Tyler told Entertainment Tonight at the event.

“We’re really excited. We got a lot of support and love around us. It’s a cool time for us, and it’s a new chapter that we can’t wait to open.”
