James Van Der Beek Welcomes a Son

It’s a boy for James and Kimberly Van Der Beek!

The couple welcomed their second child, a son, on Tuesday, March 13, the actor announced via Twitter.

“Had my first son this morning… well, actually, my wife had him. I just caught him. Wow. Heart expanding way faster than my brain,” James, 35, writes.

“If you could bottle up and distribute this feeling, I swear there’d be no more war. #fatherhood”

The new addition joins big sister Olivia, 17 months.

“Had such a blessed and miraculous birth experience. Cannot wait to share it with all of you!” Kimberly Tweeted later in the evening.

“Thank you for all the love and good wishes. I can feel it all. xo”

The pair, who were married in August 2010, shared the news that they were expecting again in October.

“Just when we thought we couldn’t feel any more blessed, it seems the universe has plans to give our daughter a sibling,” he wrote at the time.

The actor’s new series, Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23, premieres April 11 on ABC.
