Mikey Madison Texted with Demi Moore After She Beat Her at Oscars: 'I Can't Wait to See What She Does Next'

Mikey Madison and Demi Moore have all the Oscars love for each other.

Madison, 25, shared in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published Wednesday, March 4, that following her surprising Best Actress win at the 2025 Oscars, there was one fellow nominee she had to reach out to.

After describing her win for Anora as "surreal" on the Oscars stage, Madison said she texted The Substance star, whose performance in Coralie Fargeat's body horror movie had set her as a front-runner at Sunday's 97th Academy Awards. Both actresses had collected wins throughout awards season for their memorable roles, such as Moore nabbing a 2025 Critics Choice Award and Madison winning at the 2025 BAFTAs.

"I texted with Demi, who I adore," Madison said. "She’s one of the sweetest, kindest women I’ve ever met, and I’m so grateful that I was able to meet her and witness her brilliance and talent in person. I adore her and I can’t wait to see what she does next, what kind of characters she brings us. I think we’re all so ready and excited to see that."

The actress shared she also met up with and hugged Fernando Torres of I'm Still Here following the major upset. The first-time Oscar nominee and winner also beat out Cynthia Erivo for Wicked and Karla Sofía Gascón for Emilia Pérez. Writer-director-editor Sean Baker's Anora took home five total Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director.

Moore, 62, also had kind words to share for Madison, taking to Instagram on Monday, March 3 to highlight moments from the awards ceremony. The footage included shots of Moore getting ready with her team and dog Pilaf.

"As this awards season comes to a close, I’m so overwhelmed with gratitude for this journey," she wrote in her caption, shouting out the "cast, crew, and fans" of The Substance, including writer-director Coralie Fargeat and costar Margaret Qualley. "So grateful for my team, my fellow nominees, and everyone who has made this experience so full of joy and light."

Moore ended her post by honoring Madison, writing "a huge congratulations to #MikeyMadison — can’t wait to see what you do next ♥️."

As for how Madison felt less than 24 hours after such an achievement, she explained it had not fully sunk in that she will now be known as "Oscar winner Mikey Madison."

"I’m still kind of floating in a dreamlike state," Madison admitted. "It was a very, very surreal night — very interesting and obviously, celebratory and wonderful. But I think that I need time to really digest the magnitude of it."
