The pair was en route on Secor Road in Toledo on the night of Thursday, April 17, when a tree and power lines fell on their vehicle, killing the passenger and seriously injuring the driver, WTVG 13 Action News reported. Richard Miller, 35, died at the scene, the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department confirmed to the outlet. The injured driver, meanwhile, was identified by officials as Pastor Andrew Edward. Northwest Baptist Church, where Edward worked, shared a statement on Facebook, detailing that the incident occurred as the pastor was dropping Miller off at home. The duo had already dropped another church member at their house earlier in the evening. “The tree fell on the vehicle while they were waiting at a stop light,” the church wrote, adding that Pastor Edwards is in “critical care, but he is stable and responsive and has movement in all extremities.” Police tape (stock image).
