Naomi Watts Just Gave Us a Masterclass in Styling These Celeb-Worn Pieces

I feel like Naomi Watts and I could be friends. 

In my experience, besties tend to dress like one another, and, well, the star’s recent outfit is one I’d definitely wear. On March 27, she wore a striped T-shirt with a breezy voluminous skirt — the style Nicole Kidman has already pulled out for spring, too. But since it’s not super warm yet, she layered it with a cropped jacket similar to Katie Holmes’ and Gwyenth Paltrow’s. 

She also had a celeb-approved tote bag on deck, along with a pair of slingback loafers for a mix of breathability and protection from the elements. Overall, it was functional, fabulous and flawlessly executed for anything — weather included — that might come her way.

Nordstrom Rack Double Breasted Crop Trench Coat

When I’m home, I almost always have a blanket wrapped around me. While I wish I could snuggle up out in the “real world,” it’s not socially acceptable, so I defer to a jacket to keep me warm instead. This one looks lightweight yet substantial, and I think the navy color is a little less overdone than trench-coat-khaki. It’s 49 percent off and available in sizes XXS to XXL. 

The Drop Arlo Voluminous Cotton Poplin Midi Skirt

The length of the skirt doesn’t matter to me as much as the silhouette does: It needs to be fluid enough to hide sweat and allow for airflow, especially on those ultra-humid days when I can’t stand the feeling of anything sticking to me. This one is reminiscent of a European style (where A/C is less customary), so while beautiful, it should be breathable, too.

It’s also “extremely comfortable to wear,” according to one shopper and “the cut and drape is pure perfection.”

Five years ago, you couldn’t pay me to carry a big bag that wasn’t my backpack. Now, large totes are pretty much my most-used bag style. They’re just so much more conducive to my heavy-packing nature, plus, I don’t need to take things out all the time. I’ve also never seen anything quite like Watts’ shoes. I’ve seen slingbacks on Martha Stewart, and loafers on Jennifer Garner, but I can’t recall ever seeing a hybrid of the two. Now that they’re on my radar, I can’t not have a pair. I found a shorter pair and taller pair, the latter of which is also two-toned like Watts’. They’re both more formal than flip-flops, but with the same open ventilated design.
