Meghann Fahy Fights to Survive a Nightmare First Date in Pulse-Pounding New Drop Trailer (Exclusive)

Meghann Fahy and Brandon Sklenar star in director Christopher Landon's 'Drop,' in theaters April 11

Meghann Fahy goes to extreme measures to survive a first date with Brandon Sklenar in Drop.

PEOPLE has an exclusive new trailer for the thriller, directed by Christopher Landon, known for his horror work on Freaky and Happy Death Day.

Fahy stars as widowed mom Violet who reenters the dating world with her first date in years, with the charming Henry, played by Sklenar. The night out takes a turn when Violet starts being terrorized by anonymous drops to her phone.

"She is instructed to tell nobody and follow instructions or the hooded figure she sees on her home security cameras will kill Violet’s young son and babysitting sister," a synopsis teases. "Violet must do exactly as directed or everyone she loves will die. Her unseen tormentor's final directive? Kill Henry."

White Lotus alum Fahy, 34, says Drop "feels like watching a classic thriller — you’re on the ride with these characters in real time, not knowing what’s going to happen next."

"I was on the edge of my seat watching it for the first time, and I made the movie!" she adds. "I’d never had the opportunity to do my own stunts like this before. Filming it was such an incredible experience."

At the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival, where Drop had its world premiere on March 9, Sklenar, 34, told PEOPLE that he and costar Fahy "got on thick as thieves from the jump" making the film.

"The film's in real time, pretty much, and it's a date, so we were in the same wardrobe in the same chair in the same restaurant for seven weeks on a soundstage, no concept of time or space. It got a little tedious at times," says Sklenar.

"It definitely helps if you have a real relationship and you really vibe with the people you're working with and you can have a good time. We had a really good time making this movie. And I think you can feel it in the movie."

Also at SXSW, Landon told PEOPLE that Fahy is "an incredible force of nature" in the movie. "There was nothing that I couldn't throw at her that she couldn't do," he says. "It was kind of astounding."

Drop is in theaters April 11.
