Jenna Ortega Wears Glass Dress on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jokes It's 'Poking My Ass Every Time I Sit'

Jenna Ortega epitomized the expression "beauty is pain" during a March 25 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

The 22-year-old actress made a style statement in a knee-length red dress while speaking to host Stephen Colbert about the upcoming second season of her Netflix series Wednesday and her new movie Death of a Unicorn.

However, her striking look wasn't the most comfortable to sit in as she revealed it was made of individual pieces of glass.

"I'm not going to lie, there are pieces of glass that are poking my ass every time I sit," Ortega told Colbert, who joked that they needed to keep a team of medics on set and referred to her as "the lady in glass."

Ortega quipped, "I feel uncomfortable and extremely comfortable at the same time," in response.

The second season of Wednesday will premiere on Netflix sometime in 2025 and while plot details are still under wraps, series star Catherine Zeta-Jones teased that the season was "going to be bigger and more twisted than you can ever imagine" in a September 2024 Netflix first look.

Speaking with E! News in March 2025, Ortega also implied that some big things were coming on the show. In particular, she said the last episode of the season featured "some of my favorite footage from the show."

Ortega is much admired for the signature goth look that she wears in the hit series. And in March 2023, she revealed that filming the show has led to her ditching all color from her own closet, too!

"Working on Wednesday, I suddenly only ever wore black," she told New York Magazine's The Cut. " I didn't know why. For some reason, my closet just lost all its color."

Elsewhere in the interview, she said, "After Wednesday, I just don't wear a lot of color. Now I feel like I tend to stick to darker and more earthy tones."

Death of a Unicorn premieres in theaters on March 28.
