It's now less than two months away until the 76th Emmy Awards commence on Sunday, Sept. 15 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. And on Wednesday, July 16, Tony Hale and Sheryl Lee Ralph teamed up to announce the nominees live from the El Capitan Theatre. Due to the Hollywood strikes, the 2023 Emmy Awards were presented in January 2024 and shows like Succession took top drama series honors for its fourth and final season. Another fan favorite, The Bear, dominated the comedy category at the 75th Emmy Awards with six awards, which included wins for its stars, Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. This time around, beloved shows like The Bear and Shōgun dominated across the board. The Bear set a new record for nominations in a single year in the comedy category with a whopping 23 nods, a record previously held by 30 Rock with 22 nominations in 2009. Meanwhile, Shōgun led this year’s Drama category with an impressive 25 nominations.
