Elon Musk is accusing transgender individuals of attacking Teslas on the same day a scathing new interview was published with his daughter, who is trans.

His latest comments came amid a recent string of nationwide boycotts, attacks and vandalism targeting Tesla owners, dealerships and charging stations in the wake of Musk’s appointment to lead the Department of Government Efficiency, where he’s begun to cut government spending, leading to thousands of federal jobs being slashed.

Musk, also the CEO of the electric car company, previously called the attacks “evil,” and said that the “level of violence is insane and deeply wrong.” Then on Thursday, March 20, Musk — without evidence — suggested on social media that the trans community might be behind the acts of violence.

In a post on his X platform, Musk made the dubious connection after alleging that transgender populations are more likely to be violent due to hormone injections. Musk did not provide any data to support his claim, though research has repeatedly concluded that trans people are disproportionate victims of violence.

According to a UCLA School of Law report released in February, "LGBT victims of violence are also more likely than non-LGBT people to experience attacks that are more violent and to suffer injuries because of these attacks."

Meanwhile, his daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, described her dad as “a pathetic man-child” in the interview with Teen Vogue published on Thursday.

Vivian, 20, is one of at least 14 children Musk is known to have fathered with four different mothers over the last 20 years.

“I don't give a f--- about him. I really don't,” she told the magazine. “It's annoying that people associate me with him. I just don't have any room to care anymore.”

Vivian said Musk was “not as supportive” as her mom, Justine Wilson, when she first came out as transgender. She then pushed back against the narrative that her father grew increasingly conservative because of her gender identity.

“That's not what that does to people. Him going further on the right, and I'm going to use the word ‘further’ — make sure you put ‘further’ in there — is not because of me. That's insane,” she told Teen Vogue.

Vivian has not talked to Musk since 2020, and claimed she does not think about him much, according to the magazine. She has denounced her father multiple times on social media and is not afraid to speak against him.

“Why should I be scared of this man? Because he's rich? Oh, no, I'm trembling. Ooh, shivering in my boots here,” Vivan told Teen Vogue. “I don't give a f--- how much money anyone has. I don't. I really don't. He owns Twitter. Okay. Congratulations.”

Vivian also spoke about the importance of speaking out in favor of the trans community, especially as they continue to be targeted by President Donald Trump’s administration.

“We've seen such vicious attacks on trans minors, and it's really important that we protect our trans youth and do all that we can, especially in this increasingly hostile political landscape,” she said.
