Florida Georgia Line‘s Tyler Hubbard is known as a hard-rocking, harder-partying country star, but as evidenced in this exclusive clip from his July 1 wedding to Hayley Stommel, he’s also comfortable showing off his sensitive side.

“I was a basketcase to be honest,” Hubbard tells PEOPLE exclusively of first seeing his bride walk down the aisle. “I was super emotional. It was a very spiritual moment the first time I got to see her. It was beautiful.”

Equally beautiful was the wedding’s postcard-perfect setting in the mountains of Sun Valley, Idaho, where Stommel, 28, an Idaho native, grew up skiing.

“It’s a very peaceful place and it’s one of our favorite places in the world,” says Stommel of the area, captured in the video by Artisan Production. “Tyler and I just feel really close to God out in the mountains. We love being outdoors and the beauty of nature.”

“It’s heaven on earth,” adds Hubbard, 28. “Mountains in the background, a little river and a bunch of really awesome people,” is how he describes the affair, where guests were asked to dress in neutral colors in order to compliment the lush, natural surroundings of the outdoor wedding.

Turns out that beautiful, peaceful setting is also the perfect place to throw one heck of a party!

“The whole night was full of laughs,” says Hubbard. Guests, including bandmate Brian Kelley, Brett Eldredge (who provided an unreleased track, “Drunk on Your Love,” for the above clip), Charles Kelley, Thomas Rhett and Canaan Smith, “just had the best time. Nobody needed encouragement to dance and have fun.”
