Bryce Dallas Howard Reveals Which One of Her Kids Is Already Following in Her Family's Entertainment Industry Footsteps

Bryce Dallas Howard's son definitely has the entertainment bug.

On the latest episode of Zoe and Stacey Winkler's What in the Winkler podcast, the Rocketman actress, 44, and her father, actor and filmmaker Ron Howard, joined host Zoe Winkler and her father and guest host Henry Winkler to talk about their tight-knit, family-like bond. Bryce, who shares her two children with her husband Seth Gabel, shared how she found her way into the entertainment industry and revealed that her son Theo, 18, is "definitely" following in her family's entertainment footsteps.

"Theo is definitely on the filmmaker track in a big way," Bryce told the hosts, before Ron quickly added, "And in summer camp, everybody wanted him to act in their film as well."

In addition to Bryce, the director and his wife of nearly 50 years, Cheryl, share four kids: son Reed Cross, 37, and twins Jocelyn Carlyle and Paige Carlyle, 40. A few of the actor-turned-director's kids have followed in his footsteps, pursuing careers in the entertainment industry. They have also gone on to start families of their own, making Ron and Cheryl grandparents to six grandchildren.

In a 2010 interview with Parade, Ron shared that the secret to raising kids is "laughter."

"Humor is unavoidable," he said. "It might not feel funny in the moment, but more often than not there's a light at the end of the tunnel and you can personally look back and find the laughs in being a parent."

Ron added, "I think I've probably learned more and grown more because I'm a father than for any other reason."

While speaking with The Daily Beast in 2020, Bryce had nothing but praise for her famous dad, who has been her sounding board when it comes to both acting and parenting.

"It is an amazing privilege to be a child of someone who works in an industry that you are interested in and eventually work in," she told the outlet. "It's a privilege for that person to have success in their own right."

She continued, "But there was no greater privilege than the fact that my dad was supportive of me, empowered me, and showed me respect, real respect from day one."
