Lively's lawyers Mike Gottlieb and Esra Hudson said in a Feb. 12 statement that the subpoenas they issued for Baldoni's phone records "will expose the people, tactics, and methods that have worked to 'destroy' and 'bury' [Lively's] reputation and family over the past year." "We will now receive all of the 'receipts' that, unsurprisingly, are nowhere to be found on Mr. Freedman’s website," the statement read, referencing Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman. "And like Ms. Lively, those 'receipts' will have their day in court." In response, Freedman said while subpoenas "are an ordinary part of the litigation process," he claimed Lively's team is "asking for every single call, text, data log and even real-time location information for the past 2.5 years, regardless of the sender, recipient, or subject matter." "This massive fishing expedition demonstrates that they are desperately seeking any factual basis for their provably false claims," Freedman said. "They will find none." The ongoing legal battle between the It Ends With Us costars began in December 2024, when Lively, 37, filed a sexual harassment complaint against Baldoni, 41, and alleged that he engaged in misconduct during the film’s production. Lively also accused Baldoni and his associated of launching a retaliatory smear campaign meant to "destroy" her reputation, which he has denied. Baldoni countered Lively’s initial claim in January with a $400 million lawsuit against her, her husband Ryan Reynolds and their publicist Leslie Sloane, alleging extortion, defamation and more. Baldoni's legal team first said they would create a website "containing all correspondence as well as relevant videos that quash[es] [Lively's] claims" in a statement Jan. 21, days after he filed his countersuit. Lively's team made a prospective gag order request in regards to Baldoni's website, leaked video from the It Ends With Us set and other public statements made by his legal team. (In a pre-trial hearing earlier in February, the judge warned both sides not to hash out the case in public.) Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. Baldoni published the website linking to his amended complaint filed in court on Jan. 31. The website, which is simply titled "Lawsuit Info," features one page and buttons linking to two different documents related to his legal battle with Lively. Lively and Baldoni are scheduled for civil trial on March 9, 2026. Close Leave a Comment
