Argylle Premiere Red Carpet Arrivals: See Dua Lipa, Henry Cavill and More Stun in London

London was the place to be on Wednesday night.

That's because the stars of Argylle — the new action spy film out Feb. 2 — walked the red carpet at the movie's world premiere, turning heads and greeting fans at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square.

The film stars Henry Cavill, Dua Lipa, Bryce Dallas Howard and Samuel L. Jackson, among other big names, and follows the story of a book that seemingly begins playing out in real life. (And no, it was not written by Taylor Swift.)

Star Henry Cavill — who plays the titular Argylle — brought both his mother and his girlfriend as his dates to the film's premiere.

Director Matthew Vaughn told PEOPLE that Bryce Dallas Howard was "perfect for the role" of author Elly Conway, adding, "It's as simple as that."

"I had a great time on this film," Ariana DeBose told PEOPLE on the red carpet. "It was a thrill, it was absolutely terrifying sometimes just because getting to work in the Matthew Vaughn world is both dreamy and you want to come in and do your best work. You don't want to let anybody down."

Meanwhile, costar Bryan Cranston (in the Kingsman double-breasted cotton-velvet tuxedo jacket, available exclusively at MR PORTER) had some fun with photographers.

Of playing the film's villain, he told PEOPLE "it's so much fun, to be able to determine the fate of someone else's world and life. It's like, I thought I liked you but I don't, you're gone!" And of the film in general, he shared, "This is big, broad, have fun, laugh, be silly. It was so much to shoot and it’s even more fun to watch."

John Cena, who attended with wife Shay Shariatzadeh, also said director Matthew Vaughn drew him to the film. "He's got such a skill set, such an imagination and not afraid. Not a piece is wasted and it shows on screen."

For his part, director Matthew Vaughn told PEOPLE that the all-star cast "makes my job so easy. I'm literally just getting them in focus, that's all I have to do. It doesn't get better."
