Alex Rodriguez isn't just a baller when it comes to baseball!
On Sunday, Feb. 23, the former New York Yankees player, 49, proved he's also got skills on the basketball court as he visited Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, and won $10,000 for a student after sinking an epic basket from the half-court line.
The triumph happened during the half-time of a men's game, which saw the Bucknell Bison win 84-53 against the Army Black Knights.
According to CNN, Rodriguez was visiting the university to speak on a panel about entrepreneurship with his Jump co-founders, Marc Lore and Jordy Leiser, both of whom are graduates of Bucknell.
“When A-Rod came to campus for a special Bucknell Forum event with two #Bucknell alumni… no one expected this! 🤩 ,” the caption of a joint Instagram video by Bucknell University and Rodgruez, read. “Take another peek at his half-court shot that won a Bucknell student $10K!”
In the clip, Rodriguez — wearing an orange Bison Nation T-shirt — threw the ball up in the air as he stood on the court. He then launched himself into the air and perfectly shot the ball into the basket, before running around in celebration while punching his arms in delight.
As the crowd went wild, Rodriguez then ran over to the student and gave him a high-10 before lifting him off the ground.

According to a video of the moment shared by ESPN, the student was Owen Garwood, a sophomore from Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
After celebrating the big win with more people on the court, Rodriguez then spoke to the camera beside Owen in the Instagram video posted by the university.

“I’m here with my guy Owen, he’s from Philly,” the former athlete said. “He’s converted from a Philly fan to a Yankee fan. We got him $10,000. He told me what he’s going to do with it.”
“Owen, what are you going to do with it?,” Rodriguez asked, to which the student replied, “I’m going to help my parents pay for my tuition.”
